What Kind of Trips to Tibet Can Alleviate Altitude Sickness?
A good trip to Tibet doesn't simply mean including all the worthwhile attractions or offering discounted prices. Tibet, with its unique altitude in the world, requires all tourists without exception to take into account the impact of altitude sickness. So when choosing a trip to Tibet, you must pay attention to whether you can bear such a pace.
Acclimatize Yourself in Lhasa City, Nyingchi City or Gyirong Town
The first few days after arriving in Tibet are crucial for adaptation. No matter how much you long to set off for high-altitude attractions right away, you'd better calm down and give your body sufficient time to adapt. This period of time also gives you enough time to consider whether you still have the physical strength to support you through the rest of your Tibet journey. When it comes to physical health, tourists must never force themselves. They need to truthfully choose whether to continue or give up the trip based on their own physical condition.
There are a very definite reasons why Lhasa and Nyingchi are often regarded as the first stop when entering Tibet. Even leaving aside the fact that both of Lhasa and Nyingchi have direct and domestic flights from Chinese gateway cities, their altitudes are of importance. Lhasa, which is about 3,600 meters high, has a gentle terrain and boasts the best medical resources, accommodation resources and food resources in the entire Tibet. In other words, you can easily find hotels with an oxygen supply system here, purchase oxygen-inhaling equipment anywhere, and you don't have to worry about food discomfort due to the local environment, as there are many international delicacies here. The advantage of the high forest coverage rate in Nyingchi is that there is far more oxygen than in other areas, and both children and the elderly can adapt well. At an altitude of around 3,000 meters, Nyingchi is neither extremely cold in winter nor scorching hot in summer, and the air is humid. Undoubtedly, it can be regarded as the first choice for family outings.
As for Gyirong Town located on the China-Nepal border, it provides a safe haven for all tourists visiting Tibet from Nepal by road. From 1,400 meters in Kathmandu to 2,800 meters in Gyirong Town, it is an acceptable range for most tourists. Moreover, the border between China and Nepal is located in a relatively remote area, but Gyirong Town has a full range of attractions, hotels and restaurant, which can fully meet the basic needs. Most importantly, Gyirong Town is only a 300-kilometer drive from Tibet's Everest Base Camp, which is at an altitude of approximately 5,200 meters. You won't find a place more suitable as a base for adaptation than Gyirong Before a visit to EBC.

How Much Time Should You Set aside for Adaptation
For tourists who are new to Tibet, two to three days is the best time. For those with experience at high altitudes, the time can be slightly shortened according to their physical conditions, but they should not blindly head to high-altitude areas right after arriving in Tibet.
The Best Itinerary Schedule Is around Two Scenic Spots per Day
I never advocate visiting too many scenic spots in one day. The first reason is that visiting too many scenic spots in one day means not delving deeply into the cultural connotations within them. The second reason is that with too many scenic spots, the time spent on the tour vehicle will increase, and fatigue is likely to accumulate.

Hotels Equipped with Oxygen Supply Systems Can Alleviate Altitude Sickness to Some Extent
The presence of the hotel's diffused oxygen supply systems enable you to breathe air with an oxygen content close to that of plain areas throughout your sleep. Although this kind of help doesn't mean it can eliminate altitude sickness for you, you can definitely get better sleep. Good sleep can make your mental outlook better.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
