What Should Be Noted When Traveling to Tibet during the Peak Season?
The tourist season in Tibet is from May to October, with the largest number of visitors coming in July and August. During this period, there are numerous grand local festivals that add to the lively atmosphere, such as the Saga Dawa Festival, the Linka Festival, the Buddha Unfolding Festival, the Shoton Festival, and the Nagqu Horse Racing Festival, etc.
Book a Travel Package at Least One Month in Advance
There is no doubt that July and August are the peak season in Tibet every year, and the prelude has already begun by the end of June. During this period of time, you can no longer leisurely book Tibet travel packages two to three weeks in advance as you do in other months and still have time. All tourists are vying for the best tourism resources, such as high-quality hotel rooms and suites, and reservation tickets for the Potala Palace. Most importantly, it can take much longer to get your Tibet Travel Permit during this busy period. Be sure to choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 50+ and PA+++ or higher. It is recommended to reapply every two hours. Reapply immediately after sweating.
