Who Should Avoid Visiting Tibet in Winter
I would never assume that Tibet in winter is an unsuitable destination to visit. After all, Tibet is open all year round. But I want to say that if you have some expectations that don't meet this season, you need to think twice about whether to choose another time.
Mount Kailash Pilgrimage Trek Will Be Closed Every Winter
According to the usual practice, Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar are closed in early November each year and do not reopen until around early May, depending on the weather. This measure is mainly for safety reasons. Although Tibet in winter is fortunate enough to witness various wonders, it is indeed not a suitable time for hiking. Especially in Ngari, the average temperature in winter is about -10℃ to -15℃, and the monthly average minimum often reaches -12℃ to -20℃. Such extreme weather really should drive away some people. I would rather suggest choosing to go trekking around Mount Kailash in spring and summer.

Family Trips Can Be More Enjoyable at Other Times
Family Tours usually include children and the elderly. Although the temperatures in the urban areas of Tibet, such as Lhasa and Nyingchi, do not make children and the elderly feel uncomfortable at the daytime. The huge temperature difference between day and night still objectively exists, and this might lead to a reduction in some free outdoor interaction time in the evening. Moreover, because it is the off-season for tourism in Xizang, the prosperity of shops and restaurants is not as good as in the peak season, the choices available to the elderly and children will be reduced.

Everest Base Camp Tented Guesthouses Are Closed in Winter
If stargazing at night in a tented guesthouse at the Everest Base Camp and waking up at the foot of the mountain is your best idea, winter might disappoint you a little. As the tent guesthouses at the Everest Base Camp are closed during winter, our travel agency's group Tours usually arrange for tourists to stay in the nearest villages to Mount Everest, such as Basong Village or Zhaxizong Village, during this period. However, the Rongbuk Monastery Guesthouse is sill open. You can communicate with us to see if it is feasible.

Conclusion
We need to know your specific and greatest preferences in order to help you pick the best time. Sometimes it's like this: it's hard to have both benefits. Let us help you balance them out!

Train booking
We are a group of 15 (perhaps 17) who need to take the June 8th 15:27 train from Xining to Lhasa. We need to book this soon so prompt reply would be helpful. We are getting our permits from an agent and should have them in 6-8 days.

Are the flights, visas, passes and permits included in your prices? Thank you kindly. plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
