Can You Visit Mount Kailash in October?
October marks the final stage of the peak tourist season in Tibet, At the same time, this is also the last chance that one can seize if they want to trek around the mountain in this year. Starting from November 1st every year, the section from Qugu Temple to Zongdui will be closed, and trekking activities around the mountain will be suspended. If special circumstances occur such as extreme weather, Mount Kailash scenic area may close early. The opening time of the following year is generally around the end of April or the beginning of May, mainly based on the official notice.

Regarding climate, Mount Kailash is in the transition period from the end of autumn to winter. The overall climate is dry and cold, with a significant temperature difference between day and night. It is the last window period of the trekking season, but the weather has already turned significantly colder. Daytime temperature: The average temperature is about -8℃ to 9℃. On a clear day, it feels relatively comfortable under direct sunlight, but it is still bone-chilling in the absence of sunlight. Nighttime temperature: It often drops below -10℃, and on high-altitude sections (such as Droma La Pass), it can reach -15℃ or even lower at night. When the daily temperature difference exceeds 20℃, one should follow the onion-style dressing method to cope with the drastic temperature changes.

Your equipment should follow the principle of being concise yet complete. Thermal underwear, windproof and waterproof windbreakers, and thick down jackets are essential clothing, which can cope with the changeable weather on the plateau. Trekking poles can provide you with strong support when climbing steep sections, reducing the burden on your legs. You can also consider bringing a sleeping bag with a temperature rating above -15 ℃. At monastery guesthouses along the trekking route, it will be your warmest support at night.

Conclusion
If you plan to travel in October, to avoid the peak crowds, try to arrange your trip after the National Day holiday and choose to complete it before the end of October to avoid the peak flow of people and reserve buffer time to deal with bad weather.

Train booking
We are a group of 15 (perhaps 17) who need to take the June 8th 15:27 train from Xining to Lhasa. We need to book this soon so prompt reply would be helpful. We are getting our permits from an agent and should have them in 6-8 days.

Hi, I’m interested in doing the Mount Kailash tour. I only have holidays from 20/09 to 4/10 this year. Do you have a tour that includes these dates? How much would the tour be? Are the flights, visas, passes and permits included in your prices? Thank you kindly. plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
