Top Northern Tibet Nature Attractions in Nagqu
Nagqu City is one of the major cities in the northern part of Tibet. Due to its high altitude and complex road conditions, it is not suitable for fast-paced Tibet tours. Instead, it is more suitable for in-depth slow travel, photography and spiritual reflection.
Northern Tibet Grassland
The Northern Tibet Grassland refers to the Qiangtang Grassland, which is located between the Kunlun Mountains, the Tanggula Mountains, the Gangdise Mountains and the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, with an average altitude of over 4,500 meters. It is the source of major rivers such as the Yangtze River, the Nu River and the Lancang River. This place is rich in wild animals and is home to rare species such as Tibetan antelopes, wild yaks and Tibetan wild donkeys. At the same time, the spread of nomadic culture can be seen everywhere. The herdsmen here take yak and sheep breeding as their core business. They adopt the mobility of "following water and grass" as their production method, migrating between low-altitude grasslands in winter and spring and high-altitude grasslands in summer and autumn to prevent grassland degradation and achieve ecological balance. And if you get the permission of the herdsmen, you can step into their tents and experience the most simple life. The Nagqu Horse Racing Festival, held around August every year, is the most important sports event in northern Tibet, featuring horse races, traditional equestrian performances, and song and dance shows.

Namtso Lake
More than half of the surface area of the famous sacred lake Namtso is located within Bange County, Nagqu City. The famous Holy Elephant Gate is located on the northern shore of Namtso Lake (on the side of Bangor County), and it is the most representative check-in spot in northern Tibet. Compared with the southern bank located in Damxung County, there are endless Gobi deserts and sparse meadows.
Tangra Yum Tso
Tangra Yum Tso is located in Nima County, Nagqu City, Tibet. It is not only the fourth largest lake in Tibet but also one of the deepest lakes known in China. It is regarded as the most sacred lake by the Bon religion. To protect this lake, the Tangra Yum Tso National Wetland Park was established. The precious wetland ecosystem containing encompassing grasslands, meadows, marshes and rivers, offers the opportunity to observe the habitats of highland creatures such as Tibetan antelopes and migratory birds.

Cona Lake
The best view of admiring Cona Lake is from the train heading into Tibet. The railway is only about ten meters away from the lake surface. It is the first large lake on the plateau that you see during the train journey and is very suitable for viewing from the train window. After the train departs from Amdo Station, you can stay by the window and wait for the appearance of this sacred lake, which is revered by local people.

Conclusion
Apart from Namtso Lake, most of the itineraries involving other attractions in Nagqu are private customized Tours. At this point, a professional team becomes extremely important. Our team has over ten years of professional experience, and we believe our efforts will make you satisfied.

Train booking
We are a group of 15 (perhaps 17) who need to take the June 8th 15:27 train from Xining to Lhasa. We need to book this soon so prompt reply would be helpful. We are getting our permits from an agent and should have them in 6-8 days.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
