Accommodation Advice for Visiting Three Holy Lakes in Tibet
The three sacred lakes in Tibet are all far from the urban area. However, almost every tourist, especially first-time visitors, includes at least one sacred lake in their itinerary to some extent. Therefore, this article will introduce to you the importance of the hotel's location from the perspective of the reasons.

Where to Stay after Visiting Yamdrok Lake?
The altitude around Yamdrok Lake is too high, as the lake surface is about 4,400 meters above sea level, and the altitude of the surrounding Langkazi County and the lakeside homestays is mostly above 4,500 meters. The sudden drop in temperature, thin oxygen at night, and simple accommodation conditions all these can easily cause a person to sleep poorly at night, thereby exacerbating altitude sickness.
For a better experience, it is recommended to rest at hotels in the urban areas of Lhasa and Shigatse. The drive from Yamdrok Lake back to Lhasa takes about 2 to 3 hours, and it takes about 4 hours to reach Shigatse. Both are within a reasonable driving range, and the altitude is much lower than that of the surrounding areas of Yamdrok Lake.
Hotels in Lhasa and Shigatse are usually equipped with diffused oxygen supply systems, which can significantly improve the quality of sleep at night. However, around Yamdrok Lake, there are mostly simple homestays or tent camps, with limited oxygen supply conditions and high prices. Moreover, Lhasa and Shigatse are rich in medical, catering and transportation resources. If one feels unwell, they can seek medical treatment in time. In contrast, it is difficult to replenish supplies around Yamdrok Yumtso, and rescue operations at night are particularly challenging.

Where to Stay after Visiting Namtso Lake?
The altitude around Lake Namtso is even higher than that of Yamdrok Lake, exceeding 4,700 meters. There are indeed some tent areas and homestays for tourists to choose from, but it is highly not recommended for first-time visitors to Tibet or those coming in winter to experience it.
The specific situation should be discussed in terms of the south bank and the north bank because of Namtso Lake's vastness.
After visiting the Zhaxi Peninsula on the southern shore of Namtso Lake, it is recommended to head to the urban area of Lhasa for a rest. The journey is about 200 kilometers and takes about 4 hours.
As the northern shore of Namtso Lake is more remote, it is suggested that after visiting the Holy Elephant Gate, you go to Damxung County to stay at a hotel. The driving distance won't exceed 200 kilometers and it will take about two to three hours.

Where to Stay after Visiting Manasarovar Lake?
Lake Manasarovar is located in the Ngari Prefecture, and its remoteness is much greater than that of Lake Namtso and Yamdrok Yumtso. Therefore, choosing a hotel in the nearby town of Tarchen is the optimal choice and you should be well-prepared for the long drive to Saga the next day.
Conclusion
In the itinerary arrangements of our travel agency, we do have long-term cooperation with some hotels to help our clients secure the most favorable prices. However, if you have a more preferred choice, our travel agency will also try its best to arrange it for you. But we usually recommend hotels in the above-mentioned geographical locations for better adaptation.

Train booking
We are a group of 15 (perhaps 17) who need to take the June 8th 15:27 train from Xining to Lhasa. We need to book this soon so prompt reply would be helpful. We are getting our permits from an agent and should have them in 6-8 days.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
