Take a Non-Stop Flight from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to Shigatse Peace Airport
Chengdu Shuangliu Airport (500m) ranks among the top in China in terms of the number of domestica and foreign tourists it handles. Internationally, it has dozens of international routes to and from the outside world. Internally, the transportation within Chengdu is well-connected.
Shigatse Peace Airport is 500 meters lower than Shigatse Dingri Airport (4,300m). My suggestion is that you can choose to fly from Chengdu to Lhasa. After spending a few days in Lhasa, take a car or a train to Shigatse. There are around three connecting flights per week between Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Shigase Peace Airport with a layover at Xining Caojiabao Airport. This flight takes only about one hour more than a direct non-stop flight between Chengdu and Shigatse.
