Travel Insurance Recommendations for Tibet
You've finally set aside your much-earned vacation, booked flights to see the Potala Palace in Lhasa, and signed up for a Tibet travel package to Everest Base Camp. But what if a snowstorm blocks the roads or your flight gets canceled? Travel delay insurance can compensate for the lost tour fees. Insurance is like a Plan B. Even if the weather doesn't cooperate, it can help reduce your losses and give you the confidence to rearrange your itinerary.

Furthermore, do you know that Tibet has an average altitude of over 4,000 meters, and 7 out of 10 tourists suffer from altitude sickness? A common cold can lead to life-threatening pulmonary edema, and the cost of a single critical care transfer can exceed 100,000 yuan! However, a plateau insurance can prevent you from falling into such a financial predicament. Think about it, a trip to Tibet, including round-trip transportation and travel packages, costs at least several thousand to tens of thousands of yuan, while an insurance policy only costs tens to hundreds of yuan, which is just a fraction of the total budget. But what can you get for these few hundred yuan? It could be reimbursement of tens of thousands of yuan in hospital fees or helicopter rescue worth hundreds of thousands of yuan. Spending a little money for full-journey protection is definitely a good deal.
Our travel agency thoughtfully includes the essential personal accident insurance and altitude sickness insurance in our Tibet travel packages. Personal accident insurance is indispensable because accidents can happen unexpectedly during the trip, such as slips and falls while visiting scenic spots or traffic accidents on the road. It provides financial protection for medical treatment and disability caused by accidents. Altitude sickness insurance is crucial due to Tibet's high altitude. As mentioned earlier, altitude sickness is common, and severe cases can be life-threatening. This insurance covers the medical expenses related to altitude sickness, ensuring you get proper treatment without worrying about the cost.

There are also additional travel insurances for you to purchase voluntarily, depending on your specific situation. Emergency rescue insurance is suitable for Tibet trips involving hiking. Tibet is a vast region, and many adventurous attractions are in remote areas with relatively scarce medical resources. Once an emergency occurs, the difficulty and cost of rescue are much higher than in other cities. Emergency rescue insurance can provide professional rescue services, which is an important support for ensuring your life safety. When tourists get lost in no-man's land, get trapped in extreme weather, or suffer from sudden serious illnesses (such as heart disease or stroke) requiring emergency medical rescue, insurance companies can provide helicopter rescue, ground ambulance transportation, and contact local medical institutions through cooperating rescue organizations.

In addition, Tibet's weather is changeable. Extreme weather like snowstorms and heavy rains may cause flight delays, railway stoppages, and some scenic spots may be temporarily closed due to natural disasters or policy adjustments. These situations can disrupt your travel plans and cause economic losses. Travel delay and cancellation insurance can provide protection for such circumstances.
Conclusion
Our packages already shield you from the most common pitfalls with built-in accident and altitude-sickness coverage. For trekkers, photographers and anyone venturing off the beaten path, topping up with emergency rescue and trip-delay insurance is a small additional step that guarantees a big safety net.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
