Unmissable Tibetan Festival in November 2026: Tibetan Fairy Festival
Palden Lhamo Festival, namely the Tibetan Fairy Festival, falls on the 15th day of 10th month every year according to Tibetan calendar. In 2026, it will take place on November 24. This grand feast centers around the sincere respect for Tibetan women, and fills the gap of the lack of festive festivals in early winter of Tibet, bringing joy to people whoever join the celebrating procession.

On that day, Tibetan people, dressed in their festival finery, carry offerings the Jokhang Temple. Inside the Jokhang Temple, the atmosphere is jubilant. Facing the statues of Palden lhamo and Srongtsen Gampo inside the temple, they sincerely pray for blessings, hoping for a bountiful harvest and a bright future in the coming year. After presenting the white hadas, an important ceremony is to offer barley wine. The temple staff pour the fine wine into a special "horse-head wine jar" in front of the statue of the goddess, and the women will happily accept it to drink. After showing solemn respect for Goddess, Tibetan people are circling around and dancing Guozhuang. As a non-material cultural heritage of China, Guozhuang dance is lively and vigorous, allowing tourists to fully experience the enthusiasm of the Tibetan people. With the passage of time, this festival has undergone new changes. More and more young men and women choose this day, which symbolizes unwavering love, to express their love to their beloved ones.

As a tourist, you will also be accepted by this group of cheerful and hospitable people. Under the guidance of your tour guide, you can take some appropriate offerings to the Jokhang Temple just like the Tibetan people after you understand the touching legends and origins of the Tibetan Fairy Festival. You can also turn your attention to Barkhor Street. Under the influence of the festive atmosphere, the number of believers coming to circumambulate the path is even greater than usual.

Conclusion
November marks the beginning of the off-season in Tibet tourism. The temperature in Lhasa is approximately between 0℃ and 10℃. The highest temperature during the day may reach around 15℃. With the temperature of early winter, the low prices of highly attractive travel packages, and the joy brought by the Tibetan Fairy Festival, I think few people can say no to November 2026 for Tibet tours.

We are a group of 15 (perhaps 17) who need to take the June 8th 15:27 train from Xining to Lhasa. We need to book this soon so prompt reply would be helpful. We are getting our permits from an agent and should have them in 6-8 days.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
