Lhasa Sightseeing Guide
Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, is a city that combines ancient traditions with modern charm. It is a must-visit destination for travelers seeking cultural immersion and spiritual enlightenment. With its stunning architecture, rich history, and unique Tibetan culture, Lhasa offers an unforgettable experience. Whether you are a history buff, a spiritual seeker, or simply someone who appreciates natural beauty, there is always something in Lhasa to catch your eye. The city's mild climate and well-developed tourism infrastructure make it accessible and comfortable for visitors. Come and explore the heart of Tibet in Lhasa.
Potala Palace
Perched like a celestial fortress atop Marpo Ri Hill, this 1,300-year-old marvel is Tibet's architectural crown jewel. Its white and red tiers, adorned with golden rooftops, house sacred murals and the brilliant chambers. Climb its 1,000 steps not just for panoramic city views, but to feel the weight of history—every chamber whispers tales of Tibetan Buddhism's golden age.

Jokhang Temple
At the core of Lhasa's old town, Jokhang Temple pulses with devotion. Built over a millennium ago, its golden roof glistens under the Tibetan sun. Inside, the 12-year-old Buddha Shakyamuni statue draws pilgrims from afar. With its blend of Tibetan, Nepalese, and Indian architecture, it's a sensory overload of art and faith.
Barkhor Street
This labyrinthine market wraps around Jokhang Temple like a spiritual ribbon. Stroll past stalls selling yak wool blankets, thangkas, and sandalwood incense, or join locals in a clockwise kora. Taste tsampa from a vendor's hand or haggle for a prayer flag. By dusk, the street transforms into a feast for the senses—smells of spiced meat mingle with the hum of Tibetan folk songs.
Norbulingka
Known as the "Jeweled Garden," Norbulingka was once a summer retreat. Sprawling gardens, serene lakes, and Tibetan-Chinese-style palaces create a tranquil oasis. Here, history meets nature, offering a peaceful escape from the city's hustle.
Sera Monastery
Watch as young monks engage in spirited debates at Sera's courtyard—a spectacle of clapping, shouting, and fiery gestures. This 600-year-old Gelugpa monastery offers a rare glimpse into Buddhist scholasticism. Wander its courtyards, admire murals depicting the life of Buddha, or attend a holy prayer session as monks chant.

Tibet Museum
Dive into Tibet's past at this sprawling museum, where artifacts span 4,000 years. From Bronze Age tools to 17th-century thrones, exhibits reveal Tibet's complex identity. It tells the story of Tibet's history, culture, and social evolution through engaging exhibits.
Drepung Monastery
One of Tibet's largest monasteries, Drepung Monastery is a sea of white buildings. Home to thousands of monks, it's a center of Buddhist learning. Don't miss the daily scripture debates, where monks passionately discuss Buddhist teachings.

Lalu Wetland
Nicknamed the "Lung of Lhasa," this wetland is a haven for nature lovers. With its marshes, lakes, and diverse wildlife like black-necked cranes, it's a peaceful escape just outside the city.
Conclusion
All of our travel packages to Tibet include a meticulously planned itinerary in Lhasa. We look forward to your inquiry and arrival.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
