t ailments, drawing local Tibetans who sometimes stay for weeks to heal. The surrounding scenery is equally enchanting—dense forests, alpine meadows, and the unsophisticated villages. Take a side trip to Drigung Til Monastery, just 7 kilometers away, a prominent seat of the Drigung Kargyu sect, adding cultural depth to your retreat. Admission is around 60 CNY, and small motels run by local nuns offer simple snacks and drinks for extra relaxation.
Qiusang Hot Spring
For a more accessible yet equally authentic experience, Qiusang Hot Spring is a fantastic choice. Located 56 kilometers west of Lhasa in Deqing County, it's just a 1.5-hour drive from the city along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, making it perfect for a day trip. This 1,500-year-old spring carries a heartwarming legend: Tsongkhapa, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism's Gelugpa sect, is said to have healed his fractured foot here after watching a crow mend its wounded leg in the waters—hence the name "Qiusang," meaning "qualified water." The spring's clear, mineral-rich waters are celebrated for curing gout, rheumatism, and stomach issues. The entry fee is just 10 CNY, making it one of the most budget-friendly hot spring experiences near Lhasa. It's a wonderful place to chat with local Tibetans over butter tea, learning about their traditions while enjoying the soothing waters.

Riduo Hot Spring
Situated 120 kilometers east of Lhasa in Mozhugongka County, along the scenic 318 National Highway to Nyingchi, Riduo Hot Spring is a favorite among travelers seeking both comfort and cultural significance. At 4,000 meters, the spring has been developed into a well-equipped resort with modern facilities (including private cabins and a spa) alongside natural wild pools across the river, catering to both luxury seekers and adventure lovers. The mineral waters, rich in fluorine, boron, and lithium, are certified for their therapeutic benefits, easing everything from skin conditions to cardiovascular issues. Surrounded by 98% forest coverage, the area is a haven for wildlife like black-necked cranes, and nearby attractions include Ganden Monastery, one of Tibet's "Great Three" Gelugpa monasteries. The entry fee costs about 60 CNY.
Yangpachen Hot Spring
A geothermal wonder named Yangpachen Hot Spring is even more popular than the three mentioned above, because it is only about 90 kilometers from Lhasa and offers easy access on the way to Namtso Lake. At 4,200 meters, it's famous as the highest geothermal hot spring in the world, with waters bubbling at a scorching 70°C—so hot they're cooled in pools before being safe to bathe in. The spring's sulfur-rich waters are renowned for relieving muscle tension and respiratory issues, and the misty, otherworldly landscape (steam rising from vents, colorful mineral deposits) feels like stepping into a natural spa. Yangpachen is also home to China's first geothermal power station, a fascinating side note that highlights Tibet's unique natural resources. The entry fee is roughly 40 CNY. For those wishing to stay, the resort has basic but clean accommodation available.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
