Tibet is a sanctuary of Buddhist wisdom and artistry. For centuries, its monasteries, stupas, and sacred mountains have drawn pilgrims and travelers seeking enlightenment. Let's explore this spiritual paradise with insights into its unparalleled heritage through well-designed journeys.
What Treasures of Tibetan Buddhism You Can Witness in Tibet Trip?
Tibet is home to countless Buddhist artifacts that tell the story of its spiritual journey. At the Potala Palace, you'll find the Northern Wei Dynasty Gilded Bronze Buddha statue, one of the earliest Buddhist sculptures in Tibet. This 30-centimeter-tall statue, with its blue hair and gilded face, is a witness to the the early spread of Buddhism from India and Nepal to Tibet. Another notable piece is the Padmapani Lokeshvara statue, a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism.

In Lhasa's Jokhang Temple, the 1.5-meter-tall Shakyamuni Buddha statue brought by Princess Wencheng from Chang'an is the most sacred symbol in Tibetan Buddhism. Believed to be blessed by the Buddha himself, this finely crafted bronze statue is always surrounded by butter lamps and the fragrance of incense. Its compassionate and solemn expression draws countless pilgrims.
At Sera Monastery, the fearsome Hayagriva statue, namely, the horse-necked vengeful Tibetan demon, stands as a protector of esoteric Buddhism. With three faces, six arms, and a crown of horse heads, it brandishes a vajra and scriptures, exuding wisdom and power. The intricate mandala murals in the background enhance its mystical aura, making it the monastery's most prized possession.
Within the halls of Drepung Monastery stands an enormous gilded copper statue of Maitreya Buddha, known as the Jampa Thong Zhen. It is said that this statue depicts Maitreya Buddha at the age of eight, capturing the youthful form of the future Buddha.
The Tashilhunpo Monastery also boasts a colossal gilded Maitreya Buddha statue, another world-renowned masterpiece. This 26.2-meter-tall statue, with its 11.5-meter-wide shoulders and 2.8-meter-long ears, is a symbol of hope for the future in Tibetan Buddhism. It is a sacred site for pilgrims and a marvel of human craftsmanship.
In the ancient Guge Kingdom ruins, the Guge Silver-Eyed Buddha statues are a pinnacle of Guge Buddhist art. These 1-meter-tall bronze statues with silver eyes are unique in craftsmanship, with only a dozen or so remaining. They represent the religious and technological heights of the Guge Kingdom.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
