Tibet Everest Base Camp Trek Guide
Our 15-Day Trekking at the Foot of Eastern Mount Everest - Karma Valley is one of Tibet's premier trekking routes. This rewarding Tibet journey spans approximately 120 kilometers and takes you through some of the most wonderful landscapes on Earth. The trek is rated as moderate to difficult, making it suitable for experienced trekkers or those with good physical fitness. While beginners may find it challenging, our professional guides will provide comprehensive support throughout the journey. During the trek, you'll spend seven nights camping in tents, which our agency will arrange along with sleeping bags, yaks, and porters to carry your gear. This allows you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the region without the burden of heavy equipment. In addition to the trekking experience, our itinerary includes sightseeing tours of temples in Lhasa and Shigatse, providing a comprehensive cultural experience alongside the adventure.

Best Months for Everest Base Camp Trekking
The optimal months for trekking to Everest Base Camp are April to early June and September to October. During these periods, the weather is relatively stable with clear skies, offering the best views of the majestic peaks. The temperatures are moderate, making trekking conditions ideal. The monsoon season (June to August) brings heavy rainfall and poor visibility, while winter months (November to March) are extremely cold with heavy snowfall, making trekking dangerous and difficult.
Required Permits and Documents for Everest Base Camp Trekking
The Tibet Travel Permit is mandatory for all foreign visitors entering Tibet. It is included in our tour package and processed through our agency. A valid Chinese tourist visa (L visa) is required. When applying, avoid mentioning Tibet as your destination to prevent complications. What’s more, the Aliens' Travel Permit is required for travel outside Lhasa, including the Everest Base Camp area. Besides, the Military Permit is necessary for visiting restricted areas like Everest Base Camp. Rest assured that all these permit are arranged by our agency.
Scenic Highlights Along the Everest Base Camp Trek
As you journey through this enchanting landscape, you'll be greeted by a succession of awe-inspiring sights that will leave you spellbound.
Dominating the horizon is Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, standing tall at 8,848 meters. Its majestic presence commands respect and admiration, a constant reminder of the raw power and beauty of nature. Alongside Everest, the fifth highest peak, Makalu, rises to 8,463 meters, its dramatic glaciers adding to the sense of grandeur. The fourth highest peak, Lhotse, at 8,516 meters, is connected to Everest, creating a stunning visual spectacle. And then there's Chomo Lonzo, standing at 7,804 meters to the east of Everest, its northern glaciers a sight to behold.
Nestled amidst these towering peaks are a series of alpine lakes that add a touch of tranquility to the rugged landscape. At 4,300 meters, Xiao Wu Tso is a crystal-clear gem, its calm waters reflecting the majestic forms of Makalu and Chomo Lonzo on serene days. Tso Lang Tso, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, boasts stunning blue waters that seem to stretch into infinity. And at 5,010 meters, Tso Xue Ren Ma offers a magical camping experience, surrounded by multiple alpine lakes that mirror the surrounding mountains in all their glory.

As you continue your trek, you'll pass through lush forests and vibrant pastures, each offering a unique glimpse into the region's rich biodiversity. Near Tso Lang Tso, Xia Nong Pasture comes alive in summer, bursting with a riot of colorful wildflowers that carpet the landscape. The route from Lanhua Valley to Tso Lang Tso takes you through pristine forests, where you can witness the distinct vertical vegetation zones that mark the changing altitude.
The glaciers and valleys of the region are equally impressive. Karma Valley, with its steep peaks, glaciers, and clear rivers, is a sight to behold. Near Ega Grassland, you can watch as glacier-fed rivers flow through ancient beds. And at Everest East Base Camp, you'll be treated to a close-up view of the eastern glaciers and ice towers of Everest, a truly unforgettable experience.
But the wonders of the Everest Base Camp trek don't end there. Along the way, you'll also encounter Tibetan villages such as Qudang Township and Youpa Village offer a chance to experience the local culture and traditions, while viewing platforms like Tangshiang Platform provide panoramic views of multiple 8,000-meter peaks on clear days.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
