Best Summer Festivals in Tibet with Tour Packages
The summer months from June to August mark the golden period for traveling to Tibet. During these months, the average daytime temperature ranges from 15℃ to 25℃, creating a pleasantly mild climate. The sun shines brightly, providing ample daylight, and the oxygen levels are relatively higher compared to other seasons, making it easier for travelers to acclimate and engage in outdoor activities. The region is lush with vegetation, as the grasslands are covered in a verdant green carpet and a variety of flowers are in full bloom, infusing the plateau with a sense of vitality and energy. In addition to the natural beauty, summer is a time when Tibet is brimming with traditional festivals. Visitors have the unique opportunity to participate in these celebrations, immersing themselves in the rich Tibetan cultural atmosphere. The vibrant festivities, combined with the stunning landscapes and comfortable weather, make summer an ideal time to explore the wonders of Tibet.
Small-Group Tibet Summer Travel with Shoton Festival
6 Days Lhasa and Shigatse Tour
8 Days Lhasa to Everest Base Camp Tour
10 Days Lhasa to Everest Base Camp and Namtso Lake Tour
Drepung Monastery is one of Tibet's most revered Buddhist sites, where the iconic Thangka Unveiling Ceremony takes place. The sheer scale of the artwork, combined with the rhythmic chants of monks and the scent of incense, creates an atmosphere of profound spiritual reverence. No Shoton Festival experience is complete without visiting Potala Palace Square, where the air is filled with energy. Here, traditional Tibetan opera troupes perform epic stories of the past, accompanied by colorful masks and haunting melodies. For a deeper dive into Tibetan performing arts, Longwangtan Park, namely Dragon King Pond Park, offers an intimate stage for Tibetan opera. The festive journey extends beyond Lhasa to the ethereal shores of Yamdrok Lake, where nomadic villages host folklore festivals.
All the attractions mentioned above are among the liveliest spots during the Shoton Festival, and they are all included in the Tibet travel packages I recommend. These packages are carefully curated to offer you an immersive experience, allowing you to witness the grandeur of the festival, engage with local traditions, and explore the cultural treasures of Tibet in the company of a small group of fellow travelers.
Conclusion
Our carefully crafted packages are designed to immerse you in Tibet's profound traditional culture and unique charm. Explore ancient monasteries, witness vibrant festivals, interact with locals to learn handicrafts, and savor authentic Tibetan cuisine, creating unforgettable memories of this mystical land.

plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April
Hi! I would like to plan a 7-8days trip for me and my boyfriend in April (3rd to 10th ideally) to Nepal, Tibet, and, if possible, Bhutan. Do you think it would be doable? Based on what I read, there are some places/things to do to consider: Nepal: Everest Base Camp trek and the Annapurna Circuit, ancient temples, sacred sites like Lumbini, Kathmandu, Tibet: The Potala Palace in Lhasa and the Jokhang Temple. eventually the holy Mount Kailash or the high-altitude plains. Bhutan: Thimphu, Paro, and the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery. To take part in cultural traditions, yoga, meditation... Of course I am open to any recommendations you could make. For your reference, we are both based in Asia: him, in Bangkok and myself in Macau. Thank you so much for the information you could provide and, if possible, an estimated budget for your offer.
